IS 350 Haters: OMFG, did you see how crappy the IS350 interior is. I mean the bimmers leaps and bounds ahead. I like cold shapes, and inferior interior materials make me feel like I'm not a total snob. Who the hell would want to drive a car with the engine out of a Camry and the chassis from a pig like the GS. IS500 won't have a chance versus the RS4, M3 and Benzes.
Enthusiasts: The IS is a great car if you are predominantly interested in luxury and 0-60. Unfortunately, its got only slightly more soul than a Benz. Hopefully Lexus will work on the feedback in the steering and braking and put in something other than a conventional slush box with paddles that just select the maximum gear. If they do that, and update the IS350, it will be a BMW 335i killer.
IS350 fanbois: I'm so blind I can't tell the difference between the IS and BMW interiors without driving the car at a track. I'm so deaf I can't tell the difference between the Logic7 in the BMW and the ML in the IS. I have so little sensation in my hands that the steering feel on the IS and BMW are identical. I also have no sense of motion, so I can't feel that the IS has more body roll. Anyone who buys a BMW is an idiot because you can't even tell the difference between the two cars anyway, and the Lexus is more reliable.
Even if Lexus keeps the slushbox, and numb feeling the IS500 may end up doing well. Personally, I don't see any reason to buy the IS500 over the IS350. IS350 engine is already teriffic, and adding another ~150 hp for probably 20 grand just doesn't seem worth it in a car more geared towards luxury than performance. Now if it has some road feedback, and a SMG/DSG style transmission, or even a manual... oh boy. It could turn out to be a very similar package to the RS4 for a bit cheaper. Or a softer competitor to the M3 (similar to how the IS350 is a to the 3 series). In that case I think it will do VERY well, much like the current IS250/350 are doing very well.

Talking to you is like talking to a crazy guy... your over exaggeration is worthy of the 04 political race... You could have been on the Bush marketing team..
"yes, John Kerry actually was not a military hero, he was not there, he was in a hotel with a Vietnamese hooker at the time, I HAVE PROOF!!!".

Cliff notes:
IS350 haters: "the BWM is God and we worship it, no car on the planet can compete with it period especially not that lame boring Lexus. Even though no one knows anything about the IS500, the BMW is far superior"
Car Enthusiasts: "I like the IS350, its a great car, cant wait to see what the IS500 can put up."
IS350 fanboys: "IS350 haters are idiots".

Christ, this is still going?
Ive never seen a group of people who appear to have so much to prove... and yet are so seemingly unable to prove anything.
Track-worthy sport sedans: BMW > Toyota.
Nice, quiet ride and a smooth, auto tranny: Toyota > BMW.

^ LOL
i was gonna say the same thing....i step away for the weekend and you guys added 50 more useless posts.
although that silverf16 dude made 15 extremely valid points - and by virtue of lexus not implementing those types of characteristics, lexus cannot compete with BMW from a driving standpoint.

[QUOTE=y2ks2k,Jul 29 2006, 04:40 PM] I find it funny that I have heard a few times on this S2000 board from S2000 owners that the IS350 is basically not made to be a drivers car. I find this funny. There

[QUOTE=y2ks2k,Jul 25 2006, 11:53 AM] Let me edit your statement:
"Modern Toyotas *were* possibly the most soulless vehicles of all time."
I agree with that statement. but don
