Default 2008 M3, 9K miles, $55K

i saw an ad for an M3 (2008) that's hardly driven, was wondering if the $55K asking price was a good deal or not.

Not going to happen.

OP, it really depends what the car is equipped with. A stock $55,000 sedan is not a good price. A stock coupe for 55k is an alright price. I'd wait a bit longer.

thanks to everyone for the reply!

it's a coupe, with i think just about all the trimmings (sport/prem pkg, navi, cold weather, etc.)

just happen to run across it and thought i'd ask.

I've seen asking prices for a coupe (loaded with DCT) almost that low w/ <5k miles. Keep looking.

I can't opine on the price, but I'll just say that my wife and I have been absolutely loving our M3 sedan. I have a hard time finding much to complain about...well, the shifter isn't quite up to what I used to, but that's about it.

Ming, i have some experience with the e92 m3. I helped 2 of my friends buy it and I am one of those people who scavenge for the lowest price EVER. The car's msrp is a LOT higher than what the guy is asking. It's a great deal. 55k and im assuming the guys not going to report actual sale price so you dont even pay a lot of tax. The only thing to look out for is to make sure the owner did the scheduled maintenance. M3s have a mandatory 1200 mile service which is pretty important for the car. Make sure the owner is knowledgeable about the car. M3s dont have a dipstick. The electro oil meter is inaccurate. Make sure there are plenty of oil and that the 1200 mi service has been completed. After that, you're golden. The EDC on the E9x m3 has also known to have some problems on the 08s. Not many cases but it does happen pretty frequently. Make sure it functions well. Let me know if you have more questions....i know pretty much everything there is to know about that car for i was going to pull the trigger about 10 times and followed the boards very well.

Oh and if the car has DCT, i'd be a little concerned. The DCT has had quite a bit of issues and they have a recall for it as well. Most dealerships #### up the 1200 mi service on the DCT models (sounds like bs but u'd be surprised).
