I was more talking about the acceleration that anything. It's bigger than the BMW, lower priced but still very quick.

I like this new Accord a lot. Tails sre bit Genesis-esque but i think the overall design is great and the interior is nice. Definitely one of the best looking midsize sedans on the market. Nice to see Honda making somewhat of an effort after years of meh.

For what it's worth (I'm a Honda fan of course) we never looked at an Accord while we were looking for a sedan. Too FWD, too big (seriously, it's too big to fit in our garage unless we kick the workbench or the motorcycles out.) It might stack up agains the Camry and Altima really well, but I don't see it eating into 3 series sales any, and the acceleration isn't really a factor. The Altima 3.5 was out dragging S2000s nearly a decade ago, and wasn't an S2000 beater. (At least, in the minds of S2000 owners. )
Honestly id rather have a used TL over a new Accord. I just couldn't justify spending over $30k on a accord.

^ ^ I disagree. I think honda did a really good job with the new accord. It's Honda's flagship sedan, its supposed to be big and roomy to go up against the maxima and camry.

Surely Honda can make a RWD platform that is fuel efficient. Hyundai can do it.
I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but I'll probably never buy or drive (by choice) another FWD platform again.

Yeah, because most Moms go straight for a tune in their new BMW. C'mon - that's just a silly statement, given the general buyer of these cars. I was obviously comparing stock for stock. Perhaps we should mention how a 2005 E55 AMG is far faster for the same money?

Still too bland, too big, and too heavy to be an Accord. Guess we'll have to wait 3-5 years for the next model refresh to see if Honda can get it right.

Seriously? Have you even seen the new Camry, much less driven it? The V6 is still fast but it's a horrible car to drive - very bland and very bloated. It's not even remotely sporty, even the Sport version. Easily one of the worst cars to buy from a driver's enjoyment standpoint, in its class.
If anything, this newest Accord is exactly what you described - fun, quality-built and stylish, for its class. The Kia Optima might look better to some people but in my opinion, I can honestly say I think the Accord's lines are better overall and will age better as well. The Hyundai Sonata looks horrible in comparison and the new Altima also looks quite bad (in person) to me. Camry is ugly and the Malibu is equally horrible to drive. Sorry - the Accord is where it always was in the "glory years" - ahead of the competitions and still fun to drive.
EVERY review of this car has been glowing, by the way.
