even if they're all Quattro awd there are 2 different types. torsen and haldex. the torsens is primarily awd and the haldex is primarily fwd, and becoming awd on demand when the ecu detects slip

Because which type of AWD system matters to 99% of wifes. My girlfriend LOVES TT's and Boxsters and she thinks all MB's are ugly.

Im not married but my girlfriend would without a doubt prefer the TT. In her mind when she thinks mercedes benz she thinks of her grandma.

Thanks, good to know.

Id say drivetrain does matter. My gf and I share cars a lot and if I can persaude her to get the better performing layout (while she gets essentially the same sheet metal and interior she wants) its a win win situation

You know, I'm starting to think the MB is better looking...??? Rather hard to say that considering it's such a barge.

Presuming the TT is available in a manual, then the Audi. My wife cannot stand automatics.
that's a keeper />
A bit OT and probably a repost, but let me tell you. Right after we met (1981) both my Datsun 510 and her Dodge Omni (ugh) were down, so she borrowed her mother's Buick Skylark so I could take her to dinner. She pulls out of the driveway, winds up 1st and goes to stab the clutch for 2nd gear. As you might expect, almost put me through the windshield. Part of me thought this one would make a great wife. I'm not saying I'd leave her if she insisted on a slushbox or a 4-door, but it really helps to have the spouse's enthusiastic support on vehicle choices.

my wife would say neither.. she was say Audi S5 (with a manual). She won't drive autos either. She said no to a GTR because it was auto..
