Default 2014 Civic Si - blaaaa - C&D test link

Decent looking car. 2.4L has decent torque for a 4 cylinder...but..qtr mile in 15.1 ..WTF!!!! I guess the fact that it hasn't really gone up in price in 20 years is the good part... so in 20 years these cars are .4 of a second faster than the worst time I can find on the internet in the Qtr Mile.... pretty exciting stuff...

a 1994ish Integra did the qtr in 15.5 according to Motor Trend.... I am pretty sure motor week got a 14.9 with a 4 door GSR back in 1994 but I can't find that link...

15.4 according to this link.

This is really quite sad. Since when do Civic Si cars have a 7000rpm redline and a "flustered chassis"?

You would be nuts to get this over a Focus ST, IMO.

I've come to expect nothing less from Honda. Same stuff, repackaged over and over and over. It will still sell. And yes, I agree - Focus ST is the way to go.

i test drove one recently. I was thinking hey it'd be a cheap DD that gets great gas mileage. The speed didn't really bother me too much. But when i drove it the car had excessive wind/road noise. It felt like a civic at the end of the day. That combined with no power it was an easy decision not to get one. Id rather have a mk7 GTI if i want comfort with some power. For a Focus ST or WRX if i want more power

Another Honda thing that hasn't changed in 20 years:

"We were slowed slightly by a crunchy gearbox that refused to be rushed during the shift from first to second."

(Thank goodness we aren't plagued with synchro issues on the S2000, at least)

No need for the flamesuit. Their waters are so stagnant right now, mosquitos opened up a Japanese love motel.

Yes but the power of the fanboy is strong. But seriously, make a Fit Si or something, just throw us a bone.

My co-worker is about to buy this car (the sedan).
He's LITERALLY counting the days until he can go plunk down his cash and pick it up.
Spends all day on the Honda website, etc.

(we've all been there with cars, mods, etc)

I just sent him the link. Poor guy.

But I agree with you guys. If I were in the market to buy new...it wouldn't be a Honda.
