You've also drew an opinion without driving them.

And, "recently" is going on 10 years at this point...

Decent is BMW level apparently too. My 15 year old c5z handled pretty well too.

New Toyota Supra: Chief engineer explains Porsche benchmarking, DCT gearbox

So according to this MotorTrend article, the Supra benchmark is the Cayman...

Wasn't the 86s benchmarked against them too?

Super lame. Expected production of only 10,000 units a year? The car could be manual transmission equipped only and easily move that many units*

*assuming the price tag isn't stupid.

With the inevitable ADM it will be. Kinda smart though making it very limited, but repair costs and down time for parts are going to suffer.

It will be essentially, a auto only M240i in Toyota guise for a starting price of $63,500. Steep.

But on the positive side, if you like auto transmissions, the BMW inline is still full of potential for modification.

If that's the final exterior design, i'm pretty satisfied. Nice looking, pays tribute to the last iteration and some aggressive new lines. Cost is about inline with what it was in dollars for the 90's, still a premium but yeah is what it is. Power/output and 0-60 is a bit on the thin side for some expectations, but still respectable for its price point/competition. Another 60-80 hp and 4 sec flat would go a long way. Not surprised there is no manual, but that would be a really good option they should reconsider.

I think it will do better to sixty than 4.5 seconds. The M240i do it in 4.2-4.4 with the same engine in the ZF 8 speed. This will be dual clutch. Times will be similar to the dual clutch M2. 4.2 or better.

I'd rather have the Supra than the BMW variant. This seems to be targeted at the Cayman which could be very interesting.
