Just another revenue generator....Considering the car scene out in Cali plus the high concentration of people with more money than sense you can simply call this new “law” just another tax.

Lol the ''high concentration"

Dude more than a tenth of the country lives in CA, there'll obviously be a lot of car dorks there but not all that many more proportionately .

It's not a tax, if your car is reasonable you're fine.

I saw that one video floating around Reddit and it got me a bit paranoid. I'm surfing all over websites and picking out a pair of silencers for my Medalion Concept G even though it was advertised 93 dB. These Oakland cops I live around are asshats when it comes to ticketing.

Explains the recent interest in my OEM exhaust for sale on OfferUp. I'm sure those selling their OEM exhausts can ask for a pretty penny now.

CARB legal is only for any part before/including the cat. Exhaust after the cat is only noise controlled and doesn’t change emissions.

After more enlightening information looks like we can have the aftermarket PART on our car as long as its below the 95db. Meter has to be 18.5 inch away from the exhaust unit pointing at a 40 or 45 degree (can't recall the number). They will test at warm idel and at either 2k or 3k rpm.

If best case: would it be beneficial to get pulled over on a highway since there are ALOT of road noise?

Worse case: in a quiet neighborhood.

Cops got plenty of stuff to worry about. Sounds like this is just a hammer to use against the ear splitters. I am not a big regulation guy, but does not sound like the end of the world, or the craziest thing ever floated as law in Cali.

Should have passed the law on Hardly Ablesons and it would have been problem solved.
