2019 Toyota Corolla

I mean the Corolla was never meant to be the most exciting car in the world, but they are plenty durable and economical, and while not sexy it does have a charm to be able to beat the holy hell out of a car and it being the last thing you'll ever have to worry about.
Previous corollas were just lazy by Toyota, bland styling, bland driving, but they were cheap, well made, and will probably survive a nuclear holocaust.
This car strikes me as Toyota understanding they need to make the Corolla stand apart. I actually dig this car but have no need for it.
Now they just need to throw in a decent motor into it...

For the record, we're now at 276K kms (171K miles) on our 2008 Civic that has been to hell and back (Alberta winters, Texas heat, two days on the racetrack, been in 4 minor accidents, used as the family chariot for the first 9 years of its life) and the only things I've changed are fluids, brakes, tires, wiper blades, spark plugs (one set), interior HVAC blower and washer fluid pump (less than $150 in parts, other than standard maintenance). Not a single mechanical issue of any sort. I was swapping the summer tires on last week and found a small fluid leak (doesn't drip on the floor, just has a slight film on the side of the engine block) so that may be our first potential mechanical issue.
leave it to you to Honda a Toyota Corolla thread. For f sakes get some help.

I'm so happy about this car. 6MT, multi-link rear suspension, 2.0 litre 13:1 NA I4 hatchback? If I can get it with a manual & heated seats, I'll RUN to the dealership.

Dunno if being sarcastic, but I was thinking I was the only one who read it and was like hmm not bad. I mean it's no s2k replacement or whatever but sounds like a good, economical DD.

Zero sarcasm. I daily drive a Fit right now, it is paid off & has been very reliable, but assuming a price around $20,000 for the stuff listed above? There's no way I'm turning that down.
Especially if I can get it in red.

The Camry and Corolla are the two most appliance cars out there.
I don't care how sporty they try to make them, my soul would die from driving one.
I'll stick to my real sports cars.

I saw the Corolla hatch at the NYC auto show but its not available to sit in. The exterior looks nice and I like it personally. The specs also look impressive and it very different from the previous corolla. This will give the civic a run for its money. Toyota is making some impressive cars recently. From the LC, LS, GS, to the new Camry and now the Corolla all are much sportier than the Toyotas of old. Hell, even the new Rav4 is getting a torque vectoring AWD system plus on top of that you get the bullet proof reliability you really can't go wrong picking up a Toyota these days.
