$30 grand to spend, what would you upgrade to?

So I'm getting rid of my S2000 and after I pay off some debt and move out I should have a nice chunk of change to use as a downpayment to get a new car. Going to finance the rest and I'd like to spend no more then 30. Was considering an NA1 NSX as the only real option until I discovered you can pick up a clean Lotus Elise for high 20's. What would you guys jump into if you had 30k to spend?!

I sure wouldn't spend it on a 20 year old car. Grab an Elise.

I would buy as much Porsche Boxster S as I could. Its the best all-around roadster you can get today, assuming you want a roadster.

I wouldn't buy an old NSX though. For the money you can do better.

If i sell the S i'll have around 40K, i plan on keeping beater and doing something more intelligent than buying another car. Probably just keep saving (i'm 22 and in college, but no loans)

How about a $2k Civic beater and a downpayment on a house? Or are you going to be one of those ballers living in an apartment driving a 7 series? :D

Ghostface80 04-28-2010 04:05 PM

Good luck getting a loan for a NSX.

I don't need a huge house, a condo will do just fine for me. Truth be told, I'd be happy with a bedroom, a bathroom and a 6 car garage haha.

Already called my credit union. They'll give me up to 80% of book value for the loan.

I should also mention that this is strictly for a weekend/summer car only. Already have a reliable beater.
