Once when I was getting my 911 serviced over at Rusnak Porsche the service manager told me about a GT2 they had just gotten in (this was right in the begining of when they shipped) for one of their customers. Apparently it was a 911 TT owner that wanted to step up. He took off out of the parking lot and totalled it not 5 blocks from the dealership. Apparently he was unaware that the GT2 did not have PSM (Porsche Stability Management) or the AWD of the 911 TT. Sometimes people have more money than brains.

The tone of that article is disturbing. What's the German word? Schadenfreude? Rejoicing in the misfortune of others. You'd have to wonder if they'd have reported it similarly if it was a single mother scraping together enough cash to buy her first Civic and then seeing it wrecked four minutes later. I doubt they'd state "the car cost her $4,000 per minute..."

Of course he has insurance and it's going to pay for it. Buying a car like that, I certainly think that insurance is required before driving it off. In the States, it is required for new cars, I think.

I would be so pissed I'd go blind. Then I'd sue the shit out of everyone. Having completely mangled a wheel and tire assembly on the goddamn crap ass excuse for construction here in PA, I feel his pain (well, some of it at least!). There is no reason the city should not completely cover the damages for this. ing lazy turd road crews!! I hate seeing great treasures go to waste over something assinine like that......
