4WD/daily- Help me decide!
I'm in need of a 4WD car for winter and or daily duties.
Budget $25k or less. Less is better
Requirements
-Reliable
-4WD/AWD (whatever you want to call it
-Decent MPGs
-Not too costly to insure
Willing to trade some performance for luxury but must be either sporty or luxurious. I mean if its not sporty is must be luxurious, and if its not luxurious it must be somewhat sporty.
Currently Considering: somewhat in order of current preference
Subaru STI (06-07)
Mercedes-Benz C300 Sport 4matic (08-09) *30ish MPGs* luxury and style-
Subaru Impreza 2.5rs coupe *coupe only!!** (00-01) Like my wifes see sig below
EVO un-modded, does that even exist in the NW
04/05 legacy GT (I've always been afraid of the subaru 5 speeds on the 02+)
07+ G35/7X sedan (fits the bill, but kinda ugly
Open to suggestions and or opinions on current choices.
I like the STI for the same reasons most of you probably do. And I'm considering the C300 sport 4matic for the luxury and MPG trade-off C300 have been reported to get close to 30mpg on average on the Mercedes forum, I expect an STI to get low 20mpg or high teens. The 2.5RS has been a very capable 4wd and get high 20 mpgs completely stock!

Upgraded OP accordingly.
The more I think about it I think I want the STI> the rest. Yea it probably gets the worst mileage but I'm starting to think I couldn't handle an automatic in a daily anyway (I only like the auto on the C300) where I live there are lots of hills and banked corners and autos always get confused leaving you in the wrong gear or switching down when you don't want them to. Might make me
Thanks for the ideas and perspectives guys keep it coming! I'll update this regularly until I get something

I've owned a G37. Loved it and would buy one again. 37 is very different than a 35 (not only motor, but transmission). If looking at a G37, look at 2010+. 2009 (one I owned) had a minor flaw with the computer programming of the transmission that would affect low speed downshifts. TSB helped it, but 2010 was a major fix. Rock solid reliablity and great value.
