GTI seems like a clear choice if it's enough space for you.

Maybe G37? Although that doesn't seem much like an S2000 with 5 seats.

I also agree an E90 328/330i would be nice. A sweet package (N/A I-6, RWD, manual, not too big/heavy, hydro steering, 50/50 weight dist. and good handling) that's quite affordable now.

As for reliability, I have an E90 M3 and my ex-g/f had an E92 328i and they were/have been pretty solid overall. Tires are not cheap if you have the Sport Pkg 18"s, and I believe the brakes aren't either (they're quite large even on the 328i Sport), but not a huge deal.

Sorry OP for not responding.

Honestly you won't find an s2000 with 5 seats. I'd recommend keeping the S if at all possible. I plan on keeping my S forever, and daily a Sienna now. The wife has a Tucson and we're thinking of adding a 328. Quite a mix of cars..

Yep, the water pump/thermostat seem to be a maintenance item every 60-70k miles. They don't last but if that's the only real "problem" it doesn't bother me.

A Jaguar XFR or XE S are both great sporty 5 passenger cars.

I don't think the X-drive models come with the Sport package. The car is slightly taller due to the AWD system so I don't think they can fit the sport package suspension on it. I haven't seen an X-drive model with the Sport package, so if it does exist, it's quite rare.

You need the Sport package to get the sport seats.

Jag XE is a great car! Friend of mine has one and I was blown away by how well it drove, even though it didn't have a MT. Probably more than the OP is wanting to spend, though...

XE really is an awesome handling car with amazing pick up!

On another note; Maserati Ghibli is a solid handling car. The throttle programming on the down shifts are really cool and it makes the paddles more fun than on my Jag. Ghibli's depreciate like crazy, so getting one for an affordable price is easily done.

What are some of the downsides of the Ghibli. You have me thinking of picking the S4 model up. Looking at prices it seems you can pick up a relatively low mile one for around $30k which is pretty crazy.

My bad - I just found a 328ix with Sport package. So, they do exist but they are very rare.
