Zero experience driving either car but based on looks alone, the 599 does nothing for me. Sorta ugly actually. The F430 Scud is a thing of beauty exceeded only by its successor the F458. They made a Scudderia version of the F430 spider. That would be my choice. I saw a spider in city traffic a couple of years ago. So, I got a nice long look as I was side by side with it for a couple of blocks in my S2000. Gorgeous looking. As a 2-3 times per week drive in good weather I'd think that car would be a joy to drive. Big though. Much bigger than it appears in photos.

given your car list, I suggest scud.

are you on fchat? also get opinions from owners. I hanged out there for a year before pulling the trigger.

I must've missed this. Which one did you end up with?

Is that a 360 CS? That was also on my list, but given how close the price of scud is, I figured I'd go for it instead.

When I bought it, the CS was priced much lower than the scud. Since then the delta had gotten smaller so scud is the better buy. Scud is the better car in all aspects.

The 458 Italia starts in the low $200s, like $225k. If you can spend $200k, then you can spend $225k. I would pick the 458 over either one.

For me the 599 and not think twice. If you plan to keep the car for a long time, it will age more gracefully and your pockect book will thank you. Front engine Ferrari's a gentleman's car and ones to keep. More or car to just drive and live with than "every drive is an event."

Have you driven both? When you do, consider the whole picture, not just fun first drive.

I'd definitely get the 599. The Scud is nice, but it's also really loud and most likely really harsh. You can still get that noise from the 599, and when you're not driving it hard it'll still be enjoyable. If you aren't taking this F-Car to the track then there really is no reason to get the Scud.
