Am I crazy? M3 for EvoVII
Okay, I know it may not be the greatest decision because of the depreciation hit, but I'm considering selling the M3 for an EvoVII.
As some of you know my history with the M3 hasn't been a bed of roses... mind you it's a wonderful car when you don't think about all the little annoyances, but I'd be lying if I'd say it had the quality of a $60k car.
So, take my losses, get an EvoVII and pocket the rest for a raining day? Would I be nuts? Vote, reply, I'd like to get some feedback.
Cheers,
-loki

I don't know, I really like the M3. In fact I am still on my dealers list for custom order, (I really forget how long ago I got on the thing).
In my opinion the EVO will take a huge hit in styling or/and power when and if it gets to the states. THe M3 will always have 333hp and will always have more grace then any EVO.

Mitsu's have never been know to be leaders in quality. In fact some of their cars do quite poor in quality and reliability. I wouldn't sell an M3 un less you bought it because of its speed, in which case there are faster cars for the same $$$$ you paid for the M3 I would buy before the EVO. I hope the EVO doesn't get the same ricey people who f'ed up the status of the honda line screw up the EVO because it's one hell of a car not a poser like all those ricey civics.

Unfortunately it won't be an Evo VII, it'll be an Evo VIII, and UGLY AS HELL. If they look like the picture that was posted here a while back, then Mitsu is making a BIG styling mistake.

Loki lives in California....the land where anything is possible it seems.... They (Evolution imports or something like) are importing EVO VII's right now and were selling the first 12 for $36,500 with a 1 year warranty. they may have already sold all of those though.?

You're crazy... Trading a BMW for a Mitsubishi... HELL NO!!!
I agree the new M3's aren't the highest quality, hence I never replaced mine. After hearing all the engine troubles, including your own, I dropped the idea of getting another M3 like a bad habit. If anything, get another S2000.

Thanks all, I appreciate it!
I guess in my own twisted logic, I would be able to pocket the extra 10-15k and still have a great performing car. Hoping a Japanese built Mitsu will be better than a USA one (I had a 95 eclipse GST that was junk) and with the whole warranty factor, I figure since it's imported, I wouldn't even be frustrated since there's not much I can do after 1year!
