Another friend just got a GT-R...
Some of y'all may recall reading my posts about a friend's 360 and Gallardo. Well, he just leased a GT-R. Unfortunately, it died on him less than a week after delivery (bad ECU is the suspected problem), and he's now driving a Maxima.
Even aside from the breakdown, he's not that thrilled about it and thinks that he'll prob. get rid of it in around 6 months. I used the word "digital" to describe the driving experience, and he thought that was a good way to put it.
Much more potent than his prior Italian exotics, but minus the passion and visceral driving experience. Just another example that 'ring lap times don't correlate to fun factor.

Well duh. He went from a Ferrari 360 and a Lamborghini Gallardo to a video game.
I would not be amused if my new $70K+ car's computer died within a week of ownership.

Sounds like your friend is lost. Out of curiousity, is he still on his first wife?
The Ferrari was expensive to maintain, and had seen better days. The Lambo wasn't, but an uninsured driver prematurely ended its life. He decided to take a break from expensive cars for a while in favor of other priorities, but was tempted by a super-sweet lease deal w/ early termination possible after 6 months. He likes the back seats of the GT-R, since he has 2 kids.

I would have to ageee. That is half what I paid for a brand new 2600 sqft house. And yes I have done some painting, replaced some flooring, and replaced a few appliances. But its not like the roof has caved in or it refusing to give me my beer out of the fridge.

m6 or 997 turbo seems like better options. the '09 z06 has 0% apr, although it might not fit his needs for kiddo seats
He's had both the current and prior gen M5, and an older 911, albeit neither turbo nor 997. It sounds like a relatively inexpensive short term buy, he got a really sweet lease deal.
