Even aside from the breakdown, he's not that thrilled about it and thinks that he'll prob. get rid of it in around 6 months. I used the word "digital" to describe the driving experience, and he thought that was a good way to put it.
Much more potent than his prior Italian exotics, but minus the passion and visceral driving experience. Just another example that 'ring lap times don't correlate to fun factor.

You want driving passion in that price range, get a loaded Cayman S or stripped down 911.
Also, there are plenty of choices in the pre-owned mkt in that price range.

it seems like he got what fits him, financially and so forth. i don't understand how he didn't know the GTR would be a "digital" driving experience, especially given a test spin.
i meant to state those would be my top choices for the better driving experience. a 911 turbo would give him additional thrust over his previous n/a 911 and the m6 is a lighter weight, faster, stiffer suspension, more nimble drive compared to a m5.

I don't even want to mention the lease rate, but it's really not costing him much (relative to the price of the car) to play w/ it for a short term.
Mr. Clean, I had the same impressions swapping a GT-R ride w/ my old CS down my favorite local twisties. The GT-R was in another league performance-wise, but I enjoyed the CS more. W/o having the opp. to drive both back to back (yet), I suspect I'd enjoy my M3 more as well.

Well duh. He went from a Ferrari 360 and a Lamborghini Gallardo to a video game.
I would not be amused if my new $70K+ car's computer died within a week of ownership.

It's simply no wonder cars like Porsche are more involving.

I heard there have been a lot of electronic Gremlin issues with the GT-R. When I saw it & sat inside I definately thought it was a level above most standard Nissans, more Infiniti like. I liked all the electronic gadgets in it, but knew that was a nightmare waiting to happen.
