Thumbs up Which Auto History Check Co. To Use?

I'm sure most people here know how CarFax isn't the most accurate tool to use for finding out about a vehicle's history. My question to those of you who are more knowledgeable about this is what other services do you pay for to find out about a vehicle's history?

I think all of them are going to be lacking, and are only as good as what gets reported to them. I've had multiple friends who buy cars that have clean records, only to later find out that the report was updated with information about accidents, etc.

the shitty part is that if it was never reported, it will never show up.

A good mechanic. Car fax means shit - it's a good cursory tool for screening used vehicles, but when you narrow it down to one that you think you might by I wouldn't trust it. Get it inspected.
