Agreed. Reminds me of a comment I heard many years ago about the Cadillac Cimarron (badge engineered Chevrolet Cavalier)... "looks like a Cavalier that was magnetized and driven through a Western Auto store".

I think it looks ok. Hasnt really grew on me yet. The interior, however, is a different story. Possibly one of the worst designs ever! Basket weave cup holders, really?

I agree. Looks too big to be a M3 coupe replacement. The M3 coupe replacement should be a fun to drive, compact sports car, not a GT. Maybe the M2 will be that car.
