Default BMW 740i lease ends soon, what should be next?

My dad's leasing 740i will return to dealer soon, he want to buy a middle/large SUV or a big sedan.
I had suggest to get the X5 4.4, Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade, Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery II or even the new 745i.
did anyone here own any those car, if then, how is it??
or anyone can bring up another suggestion please let me know
thanks

by the way since my dad only came to california 2-3 months a year, his car is always my second car other than the s2000

Well a couple things, I drove the new 745i and it is just a wonderful driving machine. I was blown away by it. The styling is a little weird, but being that you spend most of the time inside,, you most likely could die a happy man in there.

As for the X5, I strongly suggest he drive it first, preferably as long as possible.
I've spent a fair bit of seat time in one, and I personally love it. But the ride is harsh with the sport package, ( haven't tried it without ) and it just might not be anything close to what you expect. I've known 2 people so far that have returned them for a loss. Both traded for M5's btw.

There others on your list I can't comment.

I'd highly recommend not getting the Cadillac, it's junk. I have a friend that has one and it's just not all that....

He should get the NEW Range Rover!

Discovery Series is alright. . .

The BMW X5 is very, very sweet. . .IMO.

The new '03 Lincoln Navigator looks much more aggressive than the previous models. . .can't paste the pics but here's the direct link.

The new 745i is also a sweet car. . .

thanks for everyone's suggestion.

Navigator and Escalade are suv i kinda like in the large SUV group but
I personaly perfer X5 and 745i over the other cars.

But my dad have 3 previous BMWs so if there are a choice not worse than the BMWs he will get that.

I don't know is Ford going to update the discovery soon or not since the design of that car is kinda outdate,
because my dad is going to buy a car instead of leasing this time, so he want to get the newest.

I also like the new Range Rover very much, but don't know when it is going to sell here.
I had read TopGear Magazine Dec 01, it show the price of new Range Rover going to be 100,000 UK pound on the cover about the same as a 360 modena, don't know is true or not

I traded my 740il in for a two year old Passport and an s2k!

Midlife Crisis!!

I'd be careful about getting into a large SUV. Gas prices are going to jump this year and when they do, the resale value will take a dive!
