And bmw didn't build it for them. That's amazing.

They saved on design cost by using the Acura NSX body lol
On a more serious note I do like it, not sure about no manual tranny though, I think they should offer one but what do I know. Seems like a nice overall package that will still attract the old fan base in addition to new customers. Nice.

No manual option is disappointing, but they claim there is not a trans available that can handle the torque. Perhaps they will develop one for the Z06/ZR1 versions. I guess I better hang onto my manual C7Z.
Really impressive that this will start under $60k considering what you get. It would make a great beater for a rich dude who has really nice cars

As a C7 owner for 4 years, the C8 is an absolute game-changer. A bit disappointed about the no manual but I think the DCT will be the much better performer. I was pretty excited to see the new supra come out but the C8 just stole its thunder. 60k amazing value. z51 I'm guessing closer to 70k and hoping the z06 is under 90k.

0-60mph in under 3 seconds from an NA 495hp 6.2 LT2 engine. Amazing utilization of available hp. The rear traction and gearing/shift speed of the 8-speed DCT has to be tremendous.
I want one, but I will be holding out for the Z06/ZR1 models...

Yeah, so the BASE Corvette is as fast as the 991.2 GT3 around the Nurburgring. That is just amazing and at half price.

What a car! Absolutely amazing to get that performance and feature set at that price. Well done, GM. I'd gladly own one.
THAT SAID, the looks don't grab me. The tail looks a little long and those side scoops are still too prominent. Wouldn't keep me from buying but it's definitely not as pretty as the other mid-engine cars, in my opinion.
Complete baloney that they couldn't find a transmission to handle the torque. The ZR1 and Z06 both have manual transmissions and way more torque. They're keeping costs down by offering one transmission, as they'd need an all-new manual transmission to fit this layout, I suspect. I'm fine with that - just don't pretend it's because of torque issues, GM.
