I inquired about price, and it was basically - how much do you want to spend, and how long do you want me to guarantee it. For a year, it might have been $800, for 5+ years it was thousands. I was stunned. I mean, this is S Florida, and it was a Porche club event, but seriously? I'll stick to doing a decent wax as needed.
Sounds way more expensive than I am lead to believe, but maybe I am naïve?

you can always do the job yourself. Watch a couple of vids on youtube. buy the ceramic coat online. Save yourself a grand. Is 10 hours of your time worth a grand? to me it was relaxing and therapeutic taking care of my ride.

As alluded to above, preparation is everything. A proper polish is required before these coatings should be applied. The Gtechniq stuff I have carries a 7 year warranty.

Here's what happens if you apply it incorrectly: https://glossboss.de/en/gtechniq-cry...t-application/

It's very hard to remove, which say a lot for it's longevity, but it's going to need a real job done on it in 7 years' time.

The detailer had the car for 5 days in total (some delay caused by good old English rain), most of which was spent on preparation (he also did the inside and wheels). Total cost was around 700 English pounds.

The main advantage for me is that it makes washing the car extremely easy with dirt just falling off. No need for reapplication of wax ever.

I just do PPF, Ceramic coating is nice if you don't want to wax but you still get rock chips.

Doesn't seem worth it in the long run. Clear Bra plus Wax seems like the best value. Now if it was lifetime, I get that.

Ceramic paints are really durable! They protect the surface from getting stains in rainy conditions! This is my experience with ceramic paints!
