Yet another reason to distrust GM.

I have a 14 Stingray with 56K miles over three years and four months. I love the car. It's been, for the most part, very reliable. I have an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty. My only issue has been overheating. I've gone through two water pumps and a coolant reservoir. It's cost me nothing, but twice it's been a real pain in the butt.

I was really disappointed in the direction they took the Z06 with the C7. 300 lb. weight gain! They shoulda made that the new ZR1 for less money than the C6 version, and then made a de-contented lighter-weight C7 with maybe a flat-plane crank for more power via revs instead of displacement or supercharger.

Simpler + lighter-weight > more complex + more power + more weight

At the Corvette forum, there are many owners having problems with the A8 torque converter. Even after replacement, the problem reappears. There is no fix.

abso-fcking-lutely. I swore off automatic transmissions after Honda let me down nearly twice with our '03 Odyssey.

I've had manual transmission cars almost all my life, including my 7 speed Vette and two S2000s (00 and 06) before that. My wife's old Acura MDX needed two automatic transmission rebuilds, the first one after it crapped out on a mountain road. The Corvette Forum has constant bitching about that A8 tranny.

Im guessing that was an 2003ish acura. Which to be fair was pretty much the worst tranny honda made.

You really have to wonder how this could even happen. I am not hear to GM bash, because I think they have done some pretty cool things lately, but on a car that is supposed to be an all out performance car and track weapon, wouldn't you think they would notice is overheats in as little as 15 minutes? I mean, these cars are supposed to go through some serious heavy testing and you'd think this kind of problem would show itself on day one. And then day two, and day three and so on. Either the car can maintain safe temps at the given power level or it can't. It should not be that hard to figure out it does not work.
