I've actually never had a single problem with my Z06 after over 5 years of ownership.

Which makes me kind of a sucker because I bought an extended warranty on it (I bought it used) and never actually used any of it. Not even the tiniest electrical problem or anything. Maybe I've just jinxed myself now by bragging about it. Though granted I've done less than 126,000 miles of the car mentioned here (less than half that number).

Still, my parent's recently got a new Accord that's been in the shop at least 5 or 6 times now for random annoying little things, and my Z06 has got way more years and miles than that car.

My C6 hasn't given me any problems, and I drive it pretty hard. Thou I've only owned my C6 for a few months and I still have to pay it off, also I didn't get the warranty, cause its a scamed. I'll just learn how to fix it myself just like how I did with the s2k. All cars are made with metal/plastic/etc. that deteriorates over time, so I'm not too worry. I can always finance a new/used car when ever it starts to die on me, its not the end of the world. Cars are replaceable.

I don't see the GMPP extended warranty as a scam. But is just a form of insurance (pay a bit now, maybe pays back later).

Keep in mind that, just like the Honda extended warranty, these things are negotiable. When I bought I got the dealer to drop the price of GMPP to 1/3rd (!) of his asking price because I knew from internet reports what it should really cost.

^^^warranty cost a lot!!!(1k-4k) When I have to pay a fee for the dealership just to look at whats wrong, then they come back telling me its not cover in the drivetrain warranty, its a scam. Why sell a drivetrain warranty if they won't cover it, in my opinion any thing in the engine conpartment is consider drivetrain. I know about the GMPP, its just not worth it. The likelihood of major breakdown is rare(not including when someone is at fault, warranty won't cover this) within the first 2 years, which the warranty should almost be at it end(depending on the paln you get).

It may well be the luck of the draw and deffered maintenance. I have had two mustangs, both junk, two miatas one perfect the other junk, and two volvos one junk and the other one excellent. the rest of the cars have been german or japanese...the hondas/acuras have always been tops, but your mileage can vary.,

my good friend bought a used c5, a 99, and for over a year has had no issues, granted it is a garage queen but his 64 and 74 corvettes both bought used were junk.

When I hear about so many random electic issues on a used car like that, I always wonder if the car was in a flood at some point in its life.
