That *is* different.
There was a guy that showed his modded Mustang here at the Pavilions show a couple months back. They had shoehorned - and I DO mean shoehorned - a Ford 6.5 litre Triton 90-degree V10 into it. The engine was essentially stock, but from the outside you really couldn't tell what it had. It was a damn tight fit in the engine bay though.

now that is going to be some hot shit when they are done. I wonder how they are going to handle the ECU and gauges? From what i understand, most of the gauges in the new Mustangs are run of the ECU, and they make no mention of what is going to run the engine. I doubt it will be carbed lol.

A little background : It's an 05 Mustang "body in white" that we are putting a 6.0 litre Aston Martin V12 in. This is the V12 used in the Aston Martin Vaquish.
We are doing a stroker bottom end, it will be a 6.2 ltr when we are done. We've done extensive head porting and intake work. The goal is 600 h.p. naturally aspirated.

When you can get a Ford Racing 514ci / 625hp Big-Block Crate Engine
for $8,880.99 at JEG's.
I think it would have been cooler to take a Aston Martin and put a Ford Racing crate motor in it. People would be scratch their heads saying "I thought my porche was faster....."

Nice, but I would prefer the Austin Martin. I agree with the above poster, just buy a crate motor.

That's totally cool, but.....why? because it's different?

Just my opinion, but transplanting a V12 to a Mustang is without a doubt more rare a swap than throwing an American V8 into import cars.
