+1 on this. MGB's and Spitfires would be easier to find than the Datsun, love them as I may, and suspension/brake upgrades sprout out of the ground like dandelions.

For more exclusivity, try something more specialized like an Elva Courier, TVR Grantura or Marcos, I'd think one with a blown motor is lying around somewhere.

F20 would be cool, but it's just too obvious to drop the l28t in an old datsun. Either that or the SR/RB swaps

I'll just leave this right here

With the right fender mods, even bolt on ones, the datsun 240Z is a true work of art "like the S2000".

If you go unique with the Motor swap, I'd say go with ITBs on a F20C if you can afford it. Let the screamer scream!

A boosted F20/22C would be great in an S30. Lightweight and an amazing gearbox you just won't get with an L/RB. I'd like to do it in mine.

i sold my extra F22 engine /trans swap to a guy who put it into a mid 70's Celica... pretty cool... light weight and modern power.

Hello brand new guest with one post asking how to bypass the immobilizer. How are you installing an S2000 into a datsun? Should be interesting.

haha! nice catch. I suggest searching smartly obviously and or calling Hondata. I've heard of people using Mugen ECUs on older models but maybe there were some early models that didn't have immobilizers. You could just get an earlier 2000-2001 ECU. When I did a 2004 RSX type S swap into my 95 Civic, I just had Hondata take care of the ECU with Flashpro.

Ok, so 8 years late, but a slight correction. The windscreen height difference is not a Domestic Market difference but a Model year difference. From 63 to 67 the Fairlady had a metal dash with inset gauges and a windscreen frame which bolted into the car. From 68 onwards the dash was moulded and the windscreen frame was an integrated part of the body, and much taller (by two inches).

In my opinion the ultimate Datsun Fairlady was the late 67. It had the original windscreen and dash but the 2L engine.
