I think it will be a good DD, fairly quick, lots of cargo room, and it looks nicer than the aforementioned Si and GTi competitors.

I'm getting the GTI instead. It comes with a lot more standard. The MS3 is a better performance machine, but because I am getting my GTI for $22.5k OTD, I'm pretty happy with the value I'm getting. Plus $300 for a chipping and I'm getting 250 HP with 300 TQ. Wonder what the MS3 will do when chipped.

mazda 3 hatch always still looks like a small wagon to me, not a hatchback like the GTI.
