drove 2005 NSX

it was such a beautiful car. low miles, almost mint.

the looks alone were worth the price, but alas, that isnt reality for us avg folk.

the car was fast, light, precise shifter, comfortable, surprisingly good fwd visibility. blind spots not great. made me feel special just driving it.

handling was good, but felt lacking compared the the s2k. much slower ratio made it feel less responsive. that's my big gripe. i wonder how people are ok with it. makes the car much more GT than s2k go kart feel. and maybe that's what it's supposed to be. the car was very comfortable and i just felt admiration for honda. the interior dash felt really dated and inadequate, but what can you do. also, drove it with the top off which was excellent, but the idea of having to install and remove the top every time i wanted to get some air was not a realistic proposition esp when the s2k does it in 5 seconds.

conclusion. amazing car. i want one. but it also doesnt make sense when you consider the s2k. you get so much more excitement and fun for such a low cost with the s2k. i would constantly worry about aluminum body panels etc. but man, it is one of the greatest cars of all time for certain. in 1991, it must of fallen through a wormhole from the future or at least from a Utopian reality where excellence reigns.

anyone know why honda didn't give it a better steering ratio?

Its suppose to be Honda's super car. I would imagine you would want *seom* GT feel when you pay that much money for it :p

I want a NSX badly. I had the pleasure of riding in one a couple years ago, and it was stuning.

I also want an unmolested Type R Integra, even though it would be a difficult car to find.

Both would sit beside my S2000 and complete the Honda Trifecta. That is my dream garage.

in 2006 i got this 2005 NSX... great looking car and compared to an S2000 it seemed quick.... i drag raced it to a 13.5@106mph... blaaa... my stupid Evo was quicker even 100% stock. NSX's are pretty expensive for 300hp and 3200lbs... I never did find the handling all that great either.... i had the dealer align it but it didn't help...probably needed more aggressive alignment, sticker tires and maybe another 100hp.. :suspect:

I still like the looks... :)

That color is NICE. It is expensive for the performance but the car was basically designed in the 80's with a few face lifts since. Back then it was pretty fast. Today you would only buy one simply for the fact that you've always liked/wanted one not because there were no better choices in the market.

Damn that's purty...

Fast, slow or whatever the NSX has aged gracefully. Each facelift really did wonders IMO. Heck Honda should've just done a major facelift inside and out and kept it around. V10, modern dash, more aero underneath... already a winner with less design work than a new model.

I do not like the design direction Honda has taken since 2000.

There are better cars, faster cars, cheaper cars... etc.
The NSX is now pretty vintage, but has aged gracefully. It is one of the few cars that are truely art and I can just stare at it and find pleasing angles all through it. It makes the S2000 look old, but the S2000 makes the NSX feel old.
If you are a Honda fan, you need one...
