That wing looks different from the replica LTW wings I'm used to seeing. I feel it's a bit over the top for a stock looking M3. The car looks pretty clean, why was it repainted?
Yea it is a little different because it doesn't have the risers yet it still sits relatively high. The car was repainted because the original color (Dakar I) was starting to fade.
Ah, that's right.....the '95s had single stage paint that took more effort to maintain.
I realize your wing doesn't have the risers, but the lower portion that mounts to the trunk looks different (thicker?) from any I've seen before. I'm trying to figure out who makes it.

OEM '95 LTW....

One of the many reps....

compare to yours....

I can check the receipts to see where it comes from. LTW looks so good! There was one on sale for 80K USD but had only 152 miles on it!

Edit:

Just checked, its from Makato Auto Trends and it's called a E36 M3 Motorsports GTR Spoiler.

Here's a picture from the PO when she had the wing installed on her husband's birthday. You can see the difference in Dakar compared to what it is now.

Lose the wing. Make sure you check out all the rubber bushings if they haven't been replaced recently. The rear trailing arm, guibo and rear strut mounts are probably all shot to hell.

The wing is going to stay and I'll take a look at the bushings and the records to see if they've been replaced before.

Good taste in cars. I used to own a 91 S13 coupe, then a 95 cosmos black m3 as well.
The e36 is a great car I sometimes miss it. Get the cooling system squared away and they are very reliable and fun to drive.

Thank you! When you say "get the cooling system squared away" do you mean just the fan and radiator, or something else as well?

Here's the build thread to the 240sx:

I believe the water pump and clutch fan was another issue.

I actually deleted the fan clutch and switched over to an electrical one. No real gain in power, but one less thing to worry about.
The water pump is one thing you must replace, from the factory they had plastic impellers, which when they go out can ruin an engine.
New design is a metal impeller that is much more reliable. The radiator has plastic end tanks and over time they can crack, stock replacement will last another 100k.
So pretty much water pump, radiator, fan, radiator hoses, thermostat housing, thermostat, and new belts. You can get all these things from pelican parts or bimmerworld.

heres a couple old pics of my old e36

Clean car!

It had its first track outing yesterday (on my birthday) and I was about 8 seconds (1:18:xx) slower in this compared to my S2000 (1:10s). I'll post an update tomorrow
