I don't see any point in adding and E90 M3 if you already have an E90. Trading the 328 for the M3, yes. Actually, why not do that? If your plan is to take the kiddo with you in the car, you know it works, and you get the upgrade to the sweet V8. Not seeing any downsides to this plan.

I didn't know about the bearing issues with the E90s... and then there's the IMS and D Chunk issues with the Porsches you mentioned. So I guess it's a wash when it comes to big time issues, so I'd take the 911. The Cayman to me didn't hit its stride until the next generation.

Except we need at least two automatic cars and winters can get crappy. I think eventually I will be back to two cars, it just may take time to figure out what two.

I would've picked the 911 as well.

Congrats!! Don't forget to post pics! I still want one. Now you're gonna make me check the classifieds. Someday when my kid(s) are in the age range where 911 back seats make sense, I hope to get a 911 of some sort as a daily.

Nice! Just like the one I test drove. IMO the 997.1 looks cleaner than the 997.2 (although I think the opposite for the GT3).
