Default E92 M3 = German S2000

Hello Everyone,

I've been an S2000 fanatic since I had my first AP1 in 2003 (purchased new at the time). I'm now on my third S2000 (after having had an AP2 in between), and baring circumstances out of my control, never plan on letting it go.

That being said, I've been wanting a car which performs well, is fun to drive (most important), N/A, and RWD for my daily driving purposes (trying to keep my S2000 as a dedicated fun car, not rack up too many miles). After having made many, many mistakes (STi, G37 Conv., CR-Z [biggest fail], Evo X), I finally found the perfect match in a M3.

The car's near 50/50 weight distribution, high revving naturally aspirated engine, rear wheel drive, LSD, precise handling package is beyond reprise. Combine that with the ultimate in technology and comfort, it's an unbeatable combo as an all around car. The balance, response, and neutrality of the car are as close to an S2000 as anything else I've ever driven. The engine is like an 8 cylinder F22C.

The only potential down side is fuel consumption at 12.5MPG avg (driving it pretty hard with 60% highway/40% city). But, this is isn't any worst then my previous STi or Evo X..., so that being said, with an 8 cylinder, it's not bad.

The induction noise is awe inspiring (stock ITBs), but the exhaust note was kind of subdued. Today I just got an Akrapovic Slip On Exhaust installed to help amplify in a moderate way the exhaust note, while freeing up flow, significantly reducing weight, and improving aesthetics. I've included some pics. Will post up good pictures of the whole car tomorrow. It's Mineral White w/ Fox Red/Black/Black interior. Comp package, and everything else in the book.

Thanks for looking.

Joe

No. The E36 M3 is the German S2000, albeit with 4 seats. Or an M Coupe.

2 x s2000 both fed with big macs and fries, then maybe, just maybe it's an e92.

E36 M3 came in vert, so did the Z3M and Z4M. Not that I'd want them in vert.

I know it weighs more. But it's the closest thing to an S2000 in its class of car. I did not even consider verts as in the class I was looking for all are super heavy hard tops in the luxury performance market (had a G37S hardtop, disaster, drove hard top 335is, another disaster).

I was looking for performance, drivability, versatility, and four seats, with genuine fun (fun being the sensation an S2000 gives you). This just seemed like the closest fit.
