ES350 vs TL, any experience? Looking for advice

The ES is a higher end Camry. My mom likes them. I bought her a new one 4 years ago. They are completely dull to drive and serve purely as an appliance to get from point a to point b. I would never want to drive or own one myself.

Good points. The TSX is just starting to feel every bit of it's age and mileage also need something a bit larger with two kids growing. The commute to the office largely involves taking phone calls and cruising down the tollway. The most excitement comes from the on / off ramps and a couple of turns. The ES would probably suffice for this duty if I could swallow my pride owning an old man car at 38 years old having not turned 40 yet.

I think you should buy what you really want regardless of the price. If you buy the ES because you want to save 10k and not because it is the car you really want, you might have buyer remorse. as someone mentioned previously, get a 07-08 TL-S. I just got a white 07 TL-S to replace my 06 civic and love it. good looking car with decent power. it probably has the worst turn radius of any car out there though.

2007-2008 under 100k and desired colors can cost a bit more than 10k. I would say around 14-15k for a good example. I just paid a white 07 TL-S with 84k miles for 16k asking price.

Not really sure about the Acura. Dad had the ES. Nice car, but a bit of an old man's car. He but 145k on it, sold it to someone I worked with, he put 20,000 more on it before crashing it. Bulletproof car. Comfortable. Engine is a very smooth power plant with good power, and mileage is actually pretty decent.
I think if you ever needed used parts for some reason (engine, transmission) they would be more plentiful in the Lex. But it is not a sport sedan.

Thanks all for the input. Stumbled upon an ad from a fellow S2K member selling his TL here and in the process of finishing the transaction. The ES350 will end up where it belongs, with my mother in law. I test drove one, and it was exactly what I expected driving but what I was most underwhelmed by was the interior and how it felt, just wasn't for me.
What was kind of odd to me was how few TL AWD 2012 and newer which were for sale although I seem to see a lot on the road.
