Default F1 Hits Teams Hard

I guess it was predictable. Couldn't come down on these guys and expect them to stay.

That was predictable. The teams had absolutely NO responsibility for what happened in Indy.

If a supplier of a MAJOR part (also a major safety part) declares that part unsafe for racing, the only reasonable and responsible thing to do is to withdraw from the race.

Could you imagine the legal consequences if some of the teams ignored Michelin's announcement and raced at Indy, crashed in Turn 13 and killed a couple of spectators?

I think the races are actually more interesting now with Schumacher hanging low in the rankings. I think the new tire rules are really screwing with Ferrari's strategy. But I think it could be really, really interesting if those teams broke off to a different circuit.

That's what it's all about. I am not an Ecclestone supporter but a split up could end up like the IRL/CART fiasco. Would hate to see that.

I believe the actual teams would have been breaking indiana law if they had sent there ""cars"" onto the track for the race, im not 100% but they did say that on BBC at some point a few weeks back. Besides how many of those teams can survive the liablility they, the FIA and Indianapolis would have had if a tire had failed and either the tire of parts of the vehicle had killed people, at minnimum the team and the FIA would have been liable. Its just another example of the problems in F1.

oh and i love the new tire rules, it evens things out a little, makes it a lot more interesting, dont really want to see F1 break up, well unless the new series had a race in my area that is

I heard they were trying to revive the Long Beach GP. Which I would be totally interested in. I hope it happens.

if i was indy i wouldnt want F1 back, yea it makes them money but they dont need F1 to make that money, it just hurts there image, Long Beach GP would be nice, sun, girls and the beach, just like monaco, only better. because i can get there without a 10 hour flight
