am i the only one who thinks it looks like a corvette in a body kit? keep in mind i like the way a corvette looks, and its a really good looking body kit.
so if a corvette is a rich older man's play thing, then this is a really really really really rich older man's play thing... but in a body kit...

When I first looked at it, I thought "ZR1 ripoff".
I might as well join in the cannot-afford crowd and say "I'd rather have 2 458s", or "I'd rather have 3 of this, 4 of that, 5 of such, or 6 of..." Is that what they always would say?

If you can afford it, and you are selected by Ferrari to buy one (are they doing that with this?) then you probably already have 2 458s, 3 of this, 4 of that, 5 of such, AND 6 of...)

you're right though, Steponme, it always comes up. in the LFA thread everyone couldn't get over rather having a Ferrari. people just don't seem to get that the small pool of people that have the disposable income for a car like this, often have enough for several.

Hmmm. On one hand I feel like the GTO name is special and should be reserved for one of their supercars (F40-F50-Enzo...). Then again, what was the original GTO? It was a stripped down, more powerful 250 SWB. In that sense, that is exactly what we have here- their top v12, made into a track car. Can you drive it to La Sarthe, win Le Mans in it, then drive home? No, but those days are long gone. A street legal track day car is as close as you're going to get in the modern era, and I'm sure this is a very good one.
As for that article and the comments, these people obviously don't get it. What other car company lets you spec out every last piece of the interior to your liking? Porsche does a little bit. After that, we're talking Rolls, Bentley, Pagini, etc... see the pattern here? Is it expensive? Well, yes. But it's a Ferrari FFS, this is the top of the food chain. Their buyers don't buy their suits off the rack, and they probably feel the same way about their cars too.
