Had 2 Mitsus in the early 90's, they treated me alright but I needed a hatch to load a crate/kennel so the Mitsu was out. I did drive it earlier this year though.
MPG will be OK, the car needs a stage 1 or 2 tune, and I'll get 25-26 MPG average out of it. Over 30 on the highway. I've done my research Car burns fuel more efficiently once a Cobb AP is mounted.
I just turned 35 so it really doesn't matter what I buy anymore, as the monthly insurance premium is only +/- $20. Had they not had such a huge discount off sticker, or had they not had 0%, I wouldn't have bought it. It was too good of a deal to refuse.

Damn this deal just keeps getting better.....Free roadside assistance for 3 years or 36,000 miles. And the best....my dealer has free maintenance (everything including oil changes, tire rotation, 15k service, etc) for the first 2 years of ownership. The only thing I have to concern myself with is tires and fuel

hey Tommy, have you heard anything else on the ecu remap issue and quality of the pistons?? It seems like it "was" a big deal but it really only seems like a few stis were affected? Id love to get one but would prefer to keep it stock without all sorts of aftermarket parts ie (ap, retune etc.)to keep it reliable.

I think that was a case of the few scaring the many, honestly.
AT some point I will buy an AP and go stage 1 or 2. This will provide more power, make the powerband more linear and provide better MPG due to the engine running more efficiently.

Congrats! I drove one recently for consideration as a family hauler, and loved it!
If I could do so w/o too much depr. damage, I'd consider consolidating our Cayman S and Jetta TDI into an STi.
