First drive: New Ford GT

What an amazing car. Will be interesting to see how it compares to the current super/hypercars. Also love the color of the car used in the article, subtle yet distinctive.

Could the topic title be changed? It's not a first drive...is misleading.
Sweetass car. Not sure I buy the excuse of packaging as reason for V6 TT. This has me curious though:
Especially since the M838T engine redlines at 8500 rpm. Does this mean that the Ecoboost hits 9000 rpm in street trim?

Fear not: The street-legal GT sounds excellent. Turbo whoosh is subtle, an undertone of boost beneath the engine note. The sound is somewhere between a silken straight-six and an exotic small-bore V8, a subdued but purposeful growl. Imagine a McLaren 570S with a higher redline and a little less rasp, and you'll be on the right track. It's worlds away from the woeful moan of the Le Mans racer.

If it makes that much power and torque, has the acceleration, has the right chassis, who cares about the motor. It's the same gripes as the new Raptor. Roman from TFL just drove the new one yesterday and it's incredible as well. Ford Performance doesn't play.

I agree. I read that first Ride article this morning, and was very curious to find out who was lucky enough to actually get a first drive other than Ford people. So I clicked on the thread. Misleading topic OP.
