Those MPG rating are based on Imperial gallons. That's why all UK cars read higher gas mileage than US cars.

I read the whole thing and nowhere did they mention the CR-Z was less FUN than the MB. If you think a heavy 4-door sedan such as that would be more fun to drive than a tossable, albeit slow, then you're...

So it begins again. Someone can read the words, but lacks the ability to assemble proper meaning.
Never mind! I mistook the 320d as a Mercedes (and rightfully so, because the 320 has been in the MB family for decades, e.g. E320, C320, ML320, etc.) But my point still remains, the MB blends practicality, economy, etc., but that does not mean more fun-to-drive.

A more "rounded" car does not translate into a more fun-to-drive car. What a bunch of geniuses! A more "rounded" car is so because perhaps it has more practicality, etc., just as the article mentions; nowhere does it say more fun-to-drive.

MB = "[an] unlikely mix of economy, performance and deft handling."
Honda = "a deeply appealing package for its style and verve."
On a related note to your last point, "style and verve," does[sic] not mean more fun to drive. However I hear that the "real fun is to be had from its instrumentation, and the miserly games they allow." I'm surprised that I've gotten "fun to drive" wrong all these years. If only I knew that it was all about a light right foot and gauges.

Oh good lord. They said:
Therefore, since the diesel Merc is "the most entertaining" car of the group, it's therefore more entertaining than the CR-Z. It's their opinion, but it's still a disgraceful review of Honda's so-called "sporty hybrid."
The 320d is the most rounded car here - but not the most entertaining.
That prize [meaning, "the most entertaining." -ed] goes to the Merc, for its unlikely mix of economy, performance and deft handling, all in a big car.

Please post more. I always enjoy having a laugh.
