Maybe. If the car was owned by Hertz, then I wouldnt buy it at all.

But, like I said, check to ensure Honda didnt register the vehicle to themselves for car shows or events or whatever else.

As long as its in good shape, I dont think it makes much difference at all.

For piece of mind, however, always get a PPI done before purchasing a used vehicle.
Ok what is a PPI?

Pre-Purchase Inspection.

Leakdown and compression, etc, etc, etc. Make sure there isnt a surprise lurking underneath the paint. A good PPI saved me from making a $35K+ mistake a few years back... the car was hit and Carfax didnt report it.

This is done at a dealership? How much does it usually cost? Say for an Audi TT.

I usually have them done by a locally respected, independent mechanic. There's a honda repair place here that will do them for free. You shouldn't have to pay more than $100 I would think.

I wouldnt recommend a dealership - especially the one that serviced the car.

Head to an independant shop for an honest assessment beyond "The wipers need replacing."

Usually runs me around $200 at a good shop for a full rundown.

Minor expense for major peace of mind.

"Maybe. If the car was owned by Hertz, then I wouldnt buy it at all."

I just bought a new civic and according to the sales manager I dealt with, Honda doesnt sell fleet vehicles to rental agency's ... Now that I think about it i dont remember seeing any rental agency's that have Honda's .. Not to say it wasnt a show vehicle or a Honda corporate car. Those are usually listed as fleet vehicles too.

Ask the dealer to see a copy of the title, the front will tell you exactly where there vehicle came from and what it was.

FYI - i wouldn't buy a rental car, you would be amazed the problems some of those cars have, and dealers are gooood at making them "loook" good, its usually not worth the hassles for the little bit of money that you will save.

Off leases are different, off leases are usually a good deal, people usually keep lease cars in better shape, because you get penalized (sp?) if you return it in bad shape.

But good luck with your decision !! and Check the title !!
