funny that its still $3k cheaper than an S2k at MSRP!
do they have the solid rear end on these, too? i'd be much more interested in mustangs if they put a bit of money in suspension.

sorry to get on a Mustang rant but one thig that really gets me is they have black side mirrors even on the $40K or $50K top editions.
I guess people that buy them don't mind, maybe even prefer that. But I can't help but think every time I see that is saves Ford $10 per car or whatever by not painting the mirrors probably use the same mirror for a Focus or what to save even more money.
It is not like painted (body color) side mirrors are a luxury feature even the cheapest Honda has painted side mirrors.
To me it is just another example of the obvious cost cutting.
It would be like if a car was offered in rental cheap-o trim with one side view mirror (which has been done) it will be black (cheap) color. But if you step up a level and get painted and two outside mirrors. Something like that you would see and people will say it's worth an extra $100 to step up a trim level.
But it seems like FOrd sticks with the cheapest possible look with the black mirror even when the Mustang is priced same as a Corvette (like the GT500).

BTW
I am sure Mustangs are fun to drive and sure they are cool looking. Same as a Buick GNX was cool in its day and even today is cool. But the GNX is not a modern car and I don't expect to see modern features on it. But the Mustang is supposed to be a mordern car so I would expect things like stability control (at least an option not sure if it is?) and things like IRS and 6-MT etc.. which most modern cars have.
I am not trying to fight with people that like Mustangs. Just I wish Ford would step up and lend a little class or do anything to make it a better car.
What I mean, me picking on the car does not mean it's a bad car. Just (I think) when it's a cheap level like a base V6 or even base V8 then fine have black mirrors or 5-speed MT.
But if people are spending another $10K give them something more than a paint scheme or different wheels. For example even a Sentra can get a 6-MT so don't tell me it's saving some money and is passed along to the buyer. It is obvious people will pay extra for a bit more.
Same with a STi (has 6-MT) while the base WRX has 5-speed. This is my point. It does cost more to design and market a 6-MT when you already have a 5-MT in the car. It does cost more to have painted side mirrors. etc.. But when you don't even try to offer anything better than the base car on up then it turn me off.
Note: I do not know if Ford even offers painted mirrors on the Mustang. Ford is so lame it's web site does not work on my computer. Sorry if I am being overly critical but things like web sites and little details like this add up and when a company would like to appeal to people that don't already love the company little details like this may well turn me off so I won't even give it a second look.
Another thing (sorry OT rant) something like Ford has the nerve to say the Taurus is "all new" in the print ads. I mean really it's the same as the 500 maybe a new engine and tranny. But last I cheked a new engine and tranny does not mean "all new" even if some of the sheet metal or interior has changed still that does not mean all new.
