My review of the 2016 RS. I've driven many hot hatches, but never one that power oversteers when launching from a dig. :D

Drove one at the track last week, really enjoyed it. Probably not as good as a daily driver but fun track car.

Nice, I may get to track the RS at Laguna some time soon. Looking forward to see how it handles at the limit, specifically how well the torque vectoring helps with rotation.

I just wish it had a softer Comfort mode for the dampers. That's the main thing holding it back from being a suitable daily driver.

The AWD helps a lot, you can feel the opposite rear tire shoving the front of the car in the direction you are turning. I think the interior is pretty awful too for a dd, rental car quality.

The reliability of the Ford Focus always worried me. Any you know of, with over 100K on them and no problems?

Lazy or an idiot to pay 5K markup, you can find them at MSRP easily if you look around. They start at 36K which is a bargain.

I gave some thought to an RS as maybe an inexpensive used winter daily. A couple things keep me from getting serious. First, this car bought on the used market will probably have a high propensity to be beat to heck by the original driver but if it comes with a certified warranty, maybe. But my Motor Trend came last night and in their picking their car of the year (congrats GM on the Chevy Bolt!) they said it was fun on a track but the car is brutal on everyday roads do to the hard and BOUNCY suspension. Normal suspensions can get hard enough here in 10 below, I am not sure ones that start that way are a comfortable daily. Can you comment on that Cosmos from your stint?

I can see someone getting one secondhand as a fun, cheap dedicated track car would be a cool idea though.

I have 105K on my 2013 ST (purchased new 1/13). Issues to date: 1 broken end link at 75K, replaced front struts and springs (could not get it to align) at 95K, drivers front wheel bearing & knuckle (bearing fused to knuckle) at 103K. All items were covered by my extended warranty.
No issues with the engine or transmission.
I have to say I've been pleased with reliability, but my warranty is up at 120K.... so check back in a year and ask..... When I was purchasing the ST I was concerned about reliability, thus the extended warranty.
This is my DD, about 100mi/day to and from work. I have not tracked the car.
