Friday's Topic: Hummer H2 or MB G500
Here's a topic for a Friday.
Seeing as though we just had a major snowstorm up here last weekend (almost 3 inches of snow ) I've been considering picking up something that can handle the harsh New Jersey winter and manage to safely transport me the .7 miles I have to go to my train station each morning.
So here's the question: Which mega SUV do you want?
Mercedes G 500?
Hummer H2
G500?
H2
Neither web site makes it easy to copy and past specs and stats. So here are the websites:
www.mbusa.com
www.hummer.com
I can't decide which one better fits my needs.
Which would you pick?

Well, to really fulfill your needs, I'd have to suggest this:
Very good value (comparitively speaking) at $75.
If you really want to throw your money away, I'd have to lean towards the MB.

they are design for 2 different type of off road.
G500 have all wheel live-axle.
G500 is the only car I know that has 3 Differentials.
and you can choose to lock or unlock each differentials.
G500 has the off road ability only Range Rover can match on hills, forest...in any bad weather.
Hummer using 4 wheel independence suspension.
it is a light military car for go very fast on the desert, snow but not hills, forest.
but H2 is basily a Suburban and the off-road ability is uncertain now.
It depend which kind of off-road ability match to your need.
I will choose the G500.

Nothing beats old Mercedes tech. Although I like the G500, it's really a bit too much for everyday use even in snow.
As for Hummer H2, have you seen the god awful interior of the prototypes in testing? It looks like it was done by the same guys that designed the interior for the Pontiacs.
I for one would choose Porsche Cayenne or the new Range Rover.
