I call bullsh*t and would like to see JD Power & Associates results.
Honda & Toyota > FORD in terms of reliability.
Anything can be reliable when it's new. LOL!

Guys, these JD Powers tests have been around for a long time, and all of a sudden when a Ford gets high marks over Honda and Toyota, well, there just might be something afoot? C'mon. Nobody was complaining about these tests when Honda and Toyota were winning them.
And besides, why is it so damn hard to believe? First of all, much of what contributes to these rating are the four cylinder versions of these cars, which sell far more than their V6 upgrades. And in the Fusion's case the engine is a Mazda unit. Actually, so was the old 3.0 they just switched away from for Ford's new 3.5 DOHC.
Man, mention an American company doing anything right around here and panties get bunched real fast.

Yup, I have had both on my S2000... more than once!
The last Ford I owned was far and away more reliable than my S2000 or my mothers Accord.
Too many are convinced that Jap makes are perfect and they are not.

i'm not going to say the fusion is a bad car, from what i've read and heard its pretty friggin good for its segment.
people buy certain brands because of their reliability though. not all hondas hold up the same, and as being said, not all ford vehicles are the same either. all we can go off is trends.
there r surely s2000's that are lemons. everything breaks and nothing works - even if they weren't driven hard. this can be said about any car.
my father, mother, sister, and i all drive hondas (except my 94 prism aka corolla) because of the experience we've had with the brand. i give props to one of my home-town brands but....
keep your high performing ford fusion built in mexico, i'll take the trusty honda accord built here in america

My experience....
I own an 08 Ford Fusion with the Sport Package-
Now 12,000 miles on it......parked outside...still looks/ drives like new
My S2000 has 7000 miles on it and is garaged most of the time...
My S2000 needs to have the rubber around the windshield replaced...its an 07
My last car was an IS350- new motor at 40,000 miles due to spun bearing....
oil changed every 3000 miles- was told by Lexus tech that they have seen this with some IS350s- not thefirst time- sold car and replaced it with S2000 and Fusion
Car before that was an 05 Acura TL- bought back by Honda under lemon law with 6000 miles on it
car before that was 02 Mustang GT- sold with 84,000 miles- only problem was an alternator went out- covered under warranty
Were most American cars junk in the mid 90s...YES
But times have changed.
Im tired of seeing people say well I had a 95 Chevy Corsica with 340,000 miles and the waterpump went out..American Cars are Junk!!
Of course if you own a 95 Chevy Corsica, or a 93 Ford Tempo and that is your only experience with American cars, you are going to think they are junk...
Now I do think that GM still has a ways to go....but after checking out the new Mustang and Fusion at the LA Auto Show...I was EXTREMELY impressed with the new car- interior fit and finish- everything
Unfortunately for GM and Chrysler- their interiors still looked like cheap crap with more plastic then Bay Watch
