Default Get the feeling competition is going to go up fast

Anyone else get the feeling all the competition is about to go up really fast? I dont know why but I have a feeling this will happen. Im talking 1/4mile speed wise. With the new NSX, Skyline, Lexus car coming out, seems like the low cost sports cars will also increase performance. I could see a lot more turbos coming out. 350z twin turbo maybe? RX8 turbo? Honda with a turbo ? Evo's and STI's already are pushing high numbers along with the SRT-4...

Even so, I will stick with the S2000. I love it for what it is. I really don't care who is faster than me....I am sure there are plenty of cars out there that cost less, but are faster. Oh well, its unfortunate that those cars owners are naive to a true, all-around fun sports car. Sucks to be them.

I won't mind if Honda makes S3000 or S4000. But they will have to keep the weight down below 3000lb. I just love how light this car feels.

The competition has been going up for years. There are cars that cost more then the S and cars that cost less then the S that will beat it in MANY different types of races. That's just the way the world is now a days. You can buy the best/ fastest/ quickest, whatever, and something will be out by the next years that will beat it. Just like computers.

even though manufacturers are putting out high hp figures and lower performance times. the S2000 is still capable, (with Tiff Nedell behind the wheel) of hitting 60 in the 5 and a half second range and the quarter mile in 13.86 (from an older Motor Trend of mine), so who cares? Besides im sure im gonna get tons of people telling me that the car isnt about going fast in a straight line, which is true. But i live in America where all the roads are straight anyway, so a little in line acceleration never hurts, and I think it would be a shame to say that our cars are becoming outclassed in terms of performance.
