I have the opportunity to get a Z4 M Coupe at a really good price right now. I just have to unload my e90 330i to get it.

With all the hype on the 135i, it's getting me thinking that it's performance may be similar, if not better, than the M Coupe. I know no official numbers are out yet, but we do know that the 335i is comparable to the M Coupe performance wise and that the 135i will be a hair better than the 335i. The M Coupe, however, is a balls out ///M. Brakes right off of the CSL and also has a real LSD. M Coupes are also pretty rare, so i won't have to worry about seeing my car everywhere. The 135i, however, has an easily modable engine and the electronic pseudo-LSD, but will be massed produced and driven by many teens in my area. I'm not going to lie to you guys, perceived image is also a factor in this decision. When I see really young kids driving my car it does kind of get to me. Looks wise, i think the M Coupe wins.

The two seats vs the 2+2 is not an issue for me. I have an e90 right now and can count the number of times someone has sat in the back on one hand. I had an AP1 before the 330 and know that the limited space isn't an issue for me.

So what would you guys do? I don't think anyone has asked this question before.

I actually REALLY like them both. The 135i should be a hair better than the 335i though. I would go with the M coupe though. It is after all the real //M car. I would be very pissed if BMW gave the //M version of the 1er coupe the green light. Plus, the 1 series will be all over the place. I can count on 2 hands the Z4 coupes I've seen period. Hope that helps.

For some reason, to me the Z4 M is all-around more attractive than the 135i.

M coupe. The 1 series will be a car that every little kid gets for a HS graduation present. I also don't like being seen in a car that everyone has or is driven around by a community I don't wish to be associated with. You may now ask me why I bought a WRX

The M is also an M car, which holds a lot of weight, both performance wise and resale wise. There's all this hype about the 135 and while it does seem great, it's definitely not better than an M coupe. To me, anyway.

getting power out of the 135i would be easier than the Z4M... But if I had the choice, I'd get the Z4M coupe because it looks many times better than the 135i, but the price is what gets the 135i on top of my list...

Depends what you want out of your car.

If you want exclusivity, get the M coupe.

The 135 is going to be EVERYWHERE and you may not like the image it will get.

However, if you're the type of guy that will get his ego bruised if you get "beaten" by a 135 while driving your M coupe...

Either way, I think you're going to take a bath getting rid of your E90 330. Why didn't you just hold out and get a 335 instead of the old engine?

That's an easy one... 135I. The Z4 (M version or not) is STILL hideous after all these years.
