And while were on this...FORD needs to get the fawk rid of Mercury.
Seriously...Mercury, WTF?? Drop that shit. What a stoopid brand.
And Lincoln needs some serious overhaulin' to be taken seriously...by at least Cadillac shoppers.
GM should only have the following brands...
Chevrolet
Cadillac
It's pretty simple...like Honda and Acura...or Nissan and Infiniti...or Toyota and Lexus...

Shed Saturn? I thought Saturn was doing pretty well, relatively? I thought it was the fastest growing brand within GM?

So they could make it right once, give it two less cylinders than their competition, and not update it for a decade?

Heres what i think GM should do:
New Chevy = old Chevy + Saturn + GMC= economical cars, vette, and trucks
New Pontiac = old Pontiac = sporty cars
New Caddy = Old Caddy + Buick= luxury cars
Sell off Saab and Hummer. Buick is valuable because they tend to be pretty reliable.
Chevy and Pontiac owners eventually migrate to a Caddy as they get more money in their pockets.
Done.

As for Buick, get this Americans - Buick is the MOST LUCRATIVE brand GM owns.....in China. It is the number one selling GM brand in China. They are not going to do anything to hurt that.
