Never mind paint to sample, they charge $3k+ for one of the standard "special" colors. Most car makers have an upcharge for metallic paints anyway, so $2500 for a choice of 40 colors isn't bad at all.

2,500 is dirt cheap. BMW M charges 5K for individual. If you want a M2 painted individual it's 50K.

yes, and pretty sure the NSX has paint upgrades which are $6000. I wonder how they land on these figures honestly, I'm sure each company approaches the formula differently.

STILL...I would gladly pay $2500 to get the car in the exact color I want, and if you have 40 to choose from, chances are you'll find a color you like.

If I was ever willing to buy a car brand new, I think $2,500 is pretty cheap to have a colour only I would have. That said, I'm not sure I will ever buy a brand new car, just don't see the value in it personally. IMO of course.

I wonder how much $2,500 would increase a 36 month lease. I'd get the craziest color as I don't have care about selling the car to the next person.

2,500 / 36 = 69.45. Plus interest.

If some of that $2,500 was residual on the lease it could be even less than that.

So, is a custom color worth $50 to $70 a month extra on a leased car?
