8k is way too high. You are sacrificing too much light output for a ricey look.

I'd go 5k for max light output. Nearly all bulbs higher than 4300k stock actually put out less light.

OSRAM CBIs are 5k and actually put out MORE light than stock (3200lm) and usually the choice for people that actually want good quality bulbs that generate better than stock light output (not just ricey color). If you go to HID forums, people are fanatical about HID Bulbs there and they usually recommend these.

OEM 's 4300K. by regulation .

and my 8000k does not so blue in person. just pure bright white, maybe a tiny bit of blue.

but it does look really blue in pictures.

Lumens by Temperature:
4300K = 3100 lm
6000K = 2900 lm
8000K = 2500 lm
10000K = 2300 lm

8000K is not "pure bright white"

There's the "reason"

And yes yours does look ricey

8000k is blue, if you can't see that you need to get your cataracts removed

OEM's are 4300K for a reason, best for light output.

8000K will look blue.

My tranny and diff are pretty strong. 116k miles.

Let me guess, those blue LED's on your car are 'bright white' too eh?

I picked up some osram 5000k hid bulbs for my S. Perfect pure white light output and brighter than stock. Fairly expensive at about $200 for the pair but well worth it imo.

Agreed, a color temp of 4,000 - 5,000 deg Kelvin provides the most usable light output. 8,000 deg Kelvin just looks like rice and limits your vision. Every time I see a kid rolling up behind me with those stupid unnatural blue lights it makes me laugh. The OEM headlamps in the S2000 or at least my AP2V3 are very good. Not sure what the OP is after other than the "gee look at me, I got HID's" ricer appearance.

Lol! What is with these "rice" comments? Sounds like a bunch of haters. So what if he wants to "rice" his car? OP. Get what you wants. The point is that you're now more knowledgeable about lumen output based on the kelvin.
