How about the S600? Didn't that thing rev like 7k at 70mph?

4.40FD for the USDM ITR(all years), 4.785FD for the JDM ITR (97-01).

Hardly consider them a car though Definitely was a motorcycle with 4 wheels. The engine, in fact, was out of a motorcycle and was chain driven. There was a guy I was talking to that knew someone who had one and they had to get a motorcycle technician to work on the motor!
Oh and on a side note.. Has anyone else ever been complimented "Nice Bike" while driving there S2k? LOL..

I had two 1989 Suzuki Swift GTI's 100 HP with 1700 lb. dry weight. It redlined at 8200-8400. At 80 MPH it was turning 4000 RPM. My wife sold hers with 250,000 miles and I sold mine with 215,000 miles. Kept them for 16 years.

2000's Mazda vehicles rev relatively high at Interstate speeds. It explains why they get nearwhere the MPG's competitors have.

I've owned a 2005 Mazda6 i (MT) and a 2011 Mazda3 i (MT), because of the high revs at 70mph, they would only return 30mpg (6) and 33 mpg (3). But I got that with mixed driving (easily beating the EPA estimate).

They were still the most fun to drive in their class. If you want a sedan for DD purposes, mid 2000's mazdas are hard to beat.

My Integra GS-R revs quite similarly to my S2000 at highway speeds. 75 mph is roughly 4000 rpm. I believe the final drive is 4.40:1

NA Miatas are pretty high. I've got a 1.8 and it's a tad over 4200RPM at 80mph. The 1.6's rev even higher. I find this more crazy than the S2000's highway RPM's, honestly, as the redline is only 7K.

what you're referring to is gearing, not necessary rpm alone.

I'm confused as to what we are discussing in this thread.

Are we discussing cars with short gears? Or cars with engines that have a high redline?
