Default Honda aims to beat Toyota in Accord's sales?

If the Accord will sell as well as Honda plans and hopes, it'll become the #1 selling car once again.

Toyota continues on track to break records and become the #1 seller after this fiscal year:

I really hope the Accord will outsell the Camry next year. It's a very optimistic hope, considering how well the latest Camry has been selling. Go little Honda!

Interesting...I think Honda might be able to do it. This car is much better looking than the Camry.

I don't think the camry is falling off the map regardless, so if Honda does overtake the camry I feel sorry for the other guys.

If I am not mistaken, if you take away Toyota rental fleet sales, the Accord beats it. I could have swore I read that somewhere. Honda does not sell to rental co's.

I believe leases are counted in the "fleet rentals". I would bet that is why the Camry out "sells" the Accord. Honda doesn't give as aggressive lease deals on the Accord as Toyota gives on the Camry. Seems pretty frequent I see Camry offers for little or no cap reduction and sub-$300 monthly payments for the LE, which is not the base model. Honda usually wants a big cap reduction (>$2000) and only on the most basic model.

Honda (for 08+) has the better vehicle of the two, however, toyota is huge so it'll be interesting to see who outsells who.

Are you saying I can't rent an Accord at rental companies?

Are you guys nuts? The new accord sedan is seriously lacking something from the rear end .. something about it. Pretty ugly IMO.

Hopefully the accord takes out the camry though.

You realize we're only talking about Accord vs. Camry, not that Honda's aiming to outsell Toyota altogether. It's not possible at the moment, but maybe in a few more decades.
