IDK. The car moves faster in the commercials than it ever will IRL.
I said the car was honest, not the commercials.

The Civic R18 is a newer and more refined motor than the Fit L15.

I guess this is relative.

Yeah, but the Corolla handles terribly. It's not a fun car, just a faster car. $2700 is nearly 18% of the purchase price of the Fit, as well. In that price bracket, that's a lot. Let's face it - people are either buying the Fit for frugality with fun, or else they're on a strict budget. Neither reason is going to get them to step up to the Corolla.

By the way, what mileage does that 170 hp Corolla get?

But IMO if Honda wanted to grab this segment by the throat with a home run. As it is (to me) it feels like another xB type car.
According to the C&D comparo, it seems like the Fit Sport in its current configuration already is a homerun.

I can afford a GTI or Accord etc.. the Fit is just a little peanut by comparison. It's cheap and gets good gas mileage and that's what a lot of peopel are looking for even if they can afford more.
Bingo. My thoughts exactly.

Just today I started thinking about buying one of these cars as my next winter car, the only thing is the base Civic is only ~$1000 more and it seems a lot nicer. I'm heading to the Honda dealership tomorrow, hopefully they'll have a Fit in stock.
The base Fit comes in with more features than the base Civic. When you get the Civic you want, you're probably gonna end up spending about $18-20k. I know EX's go about $21k out the door.

I like the car but the wife really doesn't (it would be hers) I drove the Rio,Elantra GT,and Yaris liftback but not the FiT yet. I'll reserve my thought until I drive the FiT.
