Default Honda S2000 CR: FIRST DRIVE

I stayed up all night before this car was unveiled at the autoshow. The first time I ever couldnt sleep wondering about a car. This has to be the biggest automotive dissapointment in my life. Am I wrong for being dissappointed? Yes I know it handles much better than a stock S, but I was looking for so much more. I guess a solid reason to buy another S2000.

Even Honda said out engine is a dead end without FI.

Why couldn't Honda throw on a single exhaust and rework the intake a little. If they had picked up 5hp and dropped another 30 pounds off the car and I think it would have gotten a MUCH better reaction. *Sigh*

Extremely ugly wing...

I absolutely cannot fathom buying a car that has no roof. WTF? Stupid as far as I'm concerned.

The hardtop is standard I believe - at least it better be.

Ya, marketing this thing as a revised car is a bad move. They could've relegated this to a dealer upgrade option, but I totally agree: I doubt there's much difference at all in real-world performance, and it doesn't look terribly refined either. The hardtop should be standard equipment for that extra money.

Bad move. Would it have been so difficult to try and wring out 20 extra hp?

"Honda says the aforementioned rear wing and lowered and bulging chin significantly reduce high-speed aerodynamic lift (by something like 70 percent). We say those pieces reduce the car's overall visual appeal by 79 percent."

Someone at Edmunds feels just like I do!

Honda should have made the brackets larger for the spoiler, they look a bit small...

Edit: forgot the smiley!

It says all the modifications helped out a lot on the track...the main reason why this car was birthed. Since you guys are selectively reading, so will I...the fact that the suspension, aero, and tires helped out, mission accomplished. This was meant to be a track toy...if you guys haven't found that out by now you must be blind, or you're only reading what you want to read.

Sure the front bumper looks blocky, but I've seen many MANY worse bumpers at meets, and they probably aren't wind tunnel tested like this one.
